Bamboo at the Marie Selby Botanical Gardens, Sarasota, Florida

“Bamboos are fast-growing grasses with woody stems. Some species reach 100 feet in height with strong, hollow stems 12 inches in diameter. Bamboos grow around the world but are most common in tropical and subtropical climates.”

This card from the Marie Selby Botanical Gardens in Sarasota, Florida comes to me courtesy of Martha. Fortunately, the Postal Service doesn’t seem to have minded her color-coordinated additions to the stamp. Thanks for this addition to my collection.
