I made a drawing that looked exactly like this, the tree’s and all, but the lights were different. It must have been at a different time, but the shape of the tree’s and the land strip in the back is the same, this has to be by the same person.

My paternal grandfather immigrated from Lapland to the U.S. Needless to say I adore this postcard. And the stamp is marvelous, but not a surprise to me as the Finns are some of the most uniquely creative artists in the world. I love the design that comes from that country…..always seems like a notch above the rest, be it architecture, furniture, glassware, textiles.
