Dreaming of a White Christmas

by in Christmas, Ephemera, Singapore

And may all your Milkbones be white

Kudos to the postal services of the United States and the Republic of Singapore for delivering this Christmas card intact; it’s only four inches square.  Of course, Ammy, who sent this in, also wished the postman a merry Christmas on the back of the envelope, so it may have gotten special handling.

Ammy writes that, “in Singapore, almost everyone — regardless of race and religion, celebrates Christmas, even the Malays, who are traditionally Muslim by birth (they are born into Islam). In fact, every year, our government decorates a stretch of road in our prime shopping district, Orchard Road, with Christmas lights…. There’s also a contest among the Orchard Road shopping malls, for Best Decorated Mall.”

Merry Christmas to you too, Mr. Postman!

Glad you liked it! I thought the size was very unique, which is precisely why I bought it. =D I hope the postmen had a good Christmas, which is more than I can say for myself, being sick over X’mas then Chinese New Year again. =P Thank goodness everything’s all peachy now, touch wood!

[...] is the second Christmas card I’ve received from abroad that’s tiny; like the last one (Dreaming of a White Christmas, from Singapore), it’s only four inches square. Too small for postage and address on a single side! Share [...]
