Mixed Bathing, with Elephants

Mixed bathing — men and women in the water at the same time — was scandalous enough. But with elephants? This bit of Welsh humor is actually a reproduction postcard; the original photo was taken, according to the card, on the 5th of July, 1911 or, in Welsh, 5ed Gorffennaf 1911. Gorffennaf? To hear Welsh spoken is a remarkably beautiful thing — but for non-speakers it sure is hard on the eyes.
