Here’s a card that Great-Grandpa Phil received 101 years ago from his teacher, Florence M. Fortney, who praises his “punctual attendance, correct deportment, and diligent attention to studies.” This card is much thinner than a postcard, but thicker than paper; I estimate that it’s about half as thick as typical photo paper of today.
